Creating circulation in this English Canal improved oxygen transfer and stopped fish kills.
Creating circulation in this English Canal improved oxygen transfer and stopped fish kills.
Situation: Low oxygen levels caused fish deaths as well as a handful of other water quality problems for Enfield Island Village’s water feature.
Solution: We installed several sub-surface aspirators throughout the different parts of the canal. These units operate in shallow depths, minimize noise and proved to be the perfect fix for the both the village’s land-dwelling and aquatic based residents!
Background: Purely aesthetic in nature, the canal suffered from a lack of oxygen and any kind of natural water flow. Blanket weeds partnered with silt continued to build up, which limited oxygen production even further. With the help of specialists at H2O plants, Otterbine came in and developed a solution that worked for everyone.
