Air Flo Diffused Aeration
Subsurface Aeration Systems
This underwater 'bubbler' lake and pond diffuser system aerates, de-stratifies, and circulates water without disturbing the natural surroundings of the lake environment. Although this subsurface aeration system can be used in most water depths, it is best for ponds and lakes with depths of 8ft or 2.4m or greater. The Air Flo has been independently tested and outperforms similar systems' circulation and induced oxygen transfer capabilities by more than 20%. In addition, this system offers quiet operation and versatility in virtually any configuration.

Air Flo Diffused Aeration
This underwater 'bubbler' type diffused aeration system is designed to aerate, de-stratify and circulate water without disturbing the natural surroundings of the lake environment. Although this product can be used in most water depths, it is best for ponds and lakes with depths of 8ft or 2.4m or greater.
Features
The Air Flo 3 is a true subsurface aerator with no parts of the system visible on the lake’s surface. Backed by an all-inclusive 3-year comprehensive warranty, a 5-year warranty on the diffuser(s), a 5-year Warranty on the cabinet, and a 15-year warranty on the tubing. Additionally, check out some of these other great features.
Operating at Depth
The Air Flo’s 1/2HP oil-less rocking piston compressors allow for operating depths up to 40ft or 12m and is ideal for breaking up thermal stratification and stimulating bottom aquatic life that feeds on algae & organic nutrients.
Built to Withstand the Heat
Cabinet cooling system includes (2) axial fans that create a complete cabinet air exchange at the rate of 225 times per minute; combine this with no surface spray – those concerned with evaporation loss will favor the Air Flo.
Energy Efficient
Inexpensive in terms of both capital and operational costs.
Proven Performance
Otterbine is the only manufacturer to have oxygen transfer and pumping rates independently tested and published on their aeration systems. View Performance Results
Complete Package
Includes compressor(s), cabinet, & diffuser(s). (Tubing sold separately.)
Safety Listed & Protected
No electricity or moving parts are near the water; this makes the system entirely safe for swimming, boating, and fishing. Package electrically safety tested and listed with ETL, ETL-C. Products for European Union are also safety tested.

Unit Construction
The Air Flo 3 system is protected by an enhanced 18 gauge, 304 stainless steel cabinet enclosure. While the 1/2HP oil-less rocking piston compressor(s) used in these systems allow for operating depths up to and exceeding 40ft or 12m. The benefits of this enclosure include:
Corrosion Resistant:
Cabinet is manufactured of enhanced 18 gauge/304 stainless steel, while diffuser manifold base is constructed of high-density polyethylene plastic.
Vandal Resistant:
Enclosure is secured by a stainless steel latch that accommodates a locking mechanism.
Compact and Low Profile:
Cabinet footprint for all systems is 16in x 16in x 20.5in (41cm x 41cm x 52cm), and can easily be concealed with landscape or other structures.
Maintenance Free:
Disc diffuser manifolds are virtually maintenance free, incorporating self-cleaning 12in (350mm) discs on a base designed with ballast channels for level sinking of pads during installation.

Installation
Installation is fairly simple, but will require the services of a certified electrician.
-
1
Install Compressor Cabinet: Determine location and place cabinet on a level base, (EX: prepared gravel base, concrete slab, or plastic equipment pad.) Connect to electric, electrical disconnect should be buried below ground in conduit.
-
2
Tubing: Connect un-weighted tubing to heater hose(s) on cabinet and run it out to shoreline. (Weighted tubing will be used later to run out to the diffusers on pond bottom.)
-
3
Diffuser Assembly: Fill diffuser base manifolds with all-purpose gravel and install plugs.
-
4
Diffuser Placement & Installation: Placement is crucial to the effectiveness of the diffused air system. Tips and best practices are provided in the owner's manual. (The use of a boat may be required.)
Maintenance & Winterization
Maintenance
The Air Flo cabinet/compressors require periodic preventative maintenance, dome diffusers themselves require no maintenance. To insure years of dependable service we recommend the following:
-
1
Once a year: (as needed) Change air filter cartridge.
Winterization
If you live in a region that experiences cold winters and frozen waters you may want to run your system 24-hours per day to keep the unit from freezing in.
